Finally, room to breathe.
Psychotherapy for Individuals & Couples - Seattle, WA
Do you find yourself asking ‘why do I keep ending up here? ’ while feeling exhausted from holding everything together?
I’ve observed that revelation (or simply relief) doesn’t come from insight alone, but from the experience of being deeply met - especially in the places that we feel ugly, unbearable, or ‘not enough’. As a therapist, I hold silence and rage with equal reverence. I welcome grief and contradiction. In our work together, we’ll listen for the feelings beneath the stories you tell about your life - the emotion beneath the narrative, and sometimes the emotion beneath that emotion. I’ll ask you to make contact with your heart. In sessions, we’ll explore questions like ‘Why do I keep doing this’? and ‘Where are these feelings coming from?’. This isn’t introspection for its own sake; it’s often a path to understanding and addressing very tangible problems.
Services
Individual Therapy
I’ve been trained as an existential psychotherapist. The work we do together will ultimately be shaped by you - your experiences, your history, and the questions that matter most in your life. I often work with women who are navigating complex relationships, career uncertainty, burnout, or deeper questions about identity and purpose. This often involves exploring how past experiences - including childhood - continue to influence their lives.
Couples Therapy
My work with couples blends Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. EFT helps partners reconnect by focusing on the attachment bond - creating more safety and emotional closeness. The Gottman Method equips couples with practical, research-backed tools for communication and conflict resolution. I have experience working with couples preparing for marriage or big transitions, working through long-standing patterns of conflict or distance, and rebuilding trust.
Hi, I’m Rachel
My belief that this world needs more safe containers that allow people to process pain, to show up unfiltered, and to explore all versions of themselves, was the reason I became a therapist. I was born and raised in rural Ireland. I’ve called Seattle home for the past 5 years, after living in London, Paris, San Francisco and British Columbia for periods of my life. My ‘career’ has had nine lives, and I’ve refused to be caged into one box. I’ve worked in tech for almost a decade. The decision to return to graduate school to study Psychology was the natural step that aligned with my lifelong interest in the mind and mental health.

Approach
I bring my own humanity to this work - my heart, and my hope. I show up as a real person in the room - not poker faced, but present and alive. My therapeutic approach is grounded in unconditional positive regard - not as a therapeutic strategy, but as a natural response to witnessing someone in their fullness - their resilience, their defenses, their humor. I find myself genuinely invested in the people I work with.
I work primarily with women and with couples who are asking difficult questions about their lives and relationships: Why do I keep ending up here? Why does this feel so hard? Why do I feel alone even when I’m not? My training and clinical experience has instilled a rigorous curiosity about how my clients show up in the world, including the ways they avoid or resist contact with themselves and others.
In our sessions, we’ll slow down and explore the deeper feelings that shape how you move through the world - especially the ones that feel uncomfortable or hard to name. I’m on your team, creating a space where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or carry your experiences alone.
